Located off Jessore Road in Dum Dum, this 4,800 sq.ft residence was commissioned by an international business family who needed quick 10-minute connectivity to the Kolkata airport, but required total peace, quiet, and privacy inside their home.
The Challenge & How We Solved It
What Needed Fixing
Heavy vehicular noise along Jessore Road and flight-path aircraft overhead disrupted daily calm. In addition, the long rectangular plot meant the center of the house was originally dark and lacked natural cross-ventilation.
How We Delivered
We engineered triple-sealed acoustic laminated glass and sound-dampened exterior walls, dropping ambient indoor noise down to library levels. We carved a triple-story central skylight through the core of the house that pours soft natural light onto a grand travertine-clad lobby, illuminating all three floors naturally.
